The founder, Mr. Rodolphe SANTACRU, has been a pedagogical advisor in the French national education system for 25 years, specializing in training primary school teachers, particularly in the teaching of mathematics.

After 5 years of practice and 1,500 classroom trials in his district, he observed a clear improvement in students’ understanding of numbers and problem-solving. Driven by his passion for teaching and by the enthusiasm shown by both children and teachers, he wanted to share this innovation with a wider audience.

He partnered in the project with Mr. Olivier ANIEL, former activity coordinator and training manager at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), who shares the same passion for understanding the “maths” that surround us.

Friends for 35 years, they combined their resources and skills to create Barofile®, with the ambition of making a modest contribution to learning — which they envisioned as “child’s play.”

It was here, in the South of France, between Gémenos and the Garlaban hills, that the approach was born.
